Residence SP architecture - interior
Nestled in the green of Lille, Residence SP is a refined family home where interior clarity and architectural warmth come together. The design process started from a simple yet powerful request: a seamless dialogue between inside and outside, between living and landscape. The result? A timeless home grounded in natural materials, structured views, and spaces that breathe.
Completed: 2024
Location: Lille
The ground floor is designed as a linear, flowing space where every function is visually connected. A diagonal axis leads from the entrance to the rear of the home, with the kitchen serving as a central lookout onto the garden and pool house. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and wave curtains allow filtered daylight to enhance the calm material palette. Mediterranean Green natural stone sets the tone, both indoors and out, continuing across the terrace and pool for an uninterrupted visual rhythm. The warm oak herringbone parquet adds softness and contrast, balancing structure and serenity.
From layout to custom millwork, every detail was drawn with purpose. The bar area hides a record collection, seamlessly integrated into cabinetry with sliding doors that disappear from view. Safety was equally considered: a bespoke bio-ethanol fireplace was developed with a full glass enclosure, ensuring peace of mind for a household with young children.
“In this home, the exterior isn’t an afterthought. It’s a living part of every space.”
— Margot
Throughout the house, architectural sightlines are enhanced through strategic alignment - directing the eye to key outdoor moments while creating harmony across each zone.
The upper floor continues the home's refined language. It is minimalist in expression, but rich in detail. Each bedroom was designed as a calming retreat, with custom cabinetry, playful color accents, and soft lighting. The children's rooms include integrated niches and cheerful wall finishes, while the kids' bathroom features a bold terrazzo with warm ochre tones - a design leap their parents now consider one of their favorite choices. In every space, function meets personality, and tranquility is woven into the architecture.
The garden plays an essential role in this project’s story. Not simply a backdrop, but a designed extension of daily life. Its shape informed the placement of the outbuilding and swimming pool, set to the right side where the site opens widest. The texture of natural materials continues throughout the exterior, grounding the home in its environment and extending the tactile comfort of the interior. The visual interplay between soft curtains, open perspectives, and natural light ensures the outside is always present, even when you're inside.
