When this client bought a unique piece of land with an old farmhouse and came to us with the request to realise a classic construction programme on it, we challenged him to look at the project differently. Especially when we met the lady of the house, who has a stylish, natural flair and the desire to be surrounded by nature. It became a special project in which we also pushed our own limits.
We demolished the existing farmhouse and used recycled materials, such as the bricks on the facade, the trusses and the roof tiles for the construction of this newly built residence, which, fully in tune with its surroundings, radiates utter peace and luxurious serenity. At the front, greenery screens off the house from the street and at the back, it offers a full view of the vast surroundings. In this way, the kitchen is not only the beating heart of the villa, but also a look-out onto nature. The soft transition between interior and exterior can also be found elsewhere, such as in the choice of large windows with ultraslim window profiles. The walls throughout the house were finished with mortex, and the furniture and textiles were also selected for their qualities in order to give this new home a farmhouse-chic feel.
